We manufacture four-row tapered roller bearings in the TQO and TQI designs in the following variants.

TQO design bearings (face-to-face arrangement)

TQO design bearings have two pairs of tapered roller and cage assemblies. The two rows of rollers of each pair are arranged face-to-face. Because TQO is the most widely used four-row tapered roller bearing design, We manufacture this design in many variants.

  • Open or sealed.
  • With cylindrical or tapered bore.
  • With or without inner ring extension on both sides.
  • With or without a helical groove in the bore.

TQI design bearings (back-to-back arrangement)

TQI design bearings have two pairs of tapered roller and cage assemblies. The two rows of rollers of each pair are arranged back-to-back. These bearings provide relatively stiff bearing arrangements, which can accommodate tilting moments. TQI design bearings are also used for vertical rolls of universal mills. In those applications, the bearings are generally mounted with an interference fit on the roll neck by applying a bearing design with a tapered bore. In this case, a bearing with a cylindrical bore is required because the inner rings have a loose fit on their seat, and the outer rings are mounted with an interference fit in the chocks.

  • With cylindrical or tapered bore.
  • With or without inner ring extension on one side.

Applications of four-row tapered roller bearings

Four-row tapered roller bearings are used worldwide for rolling mill bearing arrangements where rolling speeds are slow to moderate. They are mainly used in the working roll necks of hot or cold rolling mills and roll necks of cogging mills. They usually clearance fit with roll necks to being mounted and dismounted conveniently.

Installation of four-row tapered roller bearings

1. The fit of the inner ring of the four-row tapered roller bearing and the roller neck is generally with a gap. When installing, first install the bearing into the bearing box, and then install the bearing box into the journal.

2. The outer ring of the four-row tapered roller bearing and the hole of the bearing box are also dynamically matched. First, install the outer ring into the bearing box. When leaving the factory, character symbols are printed on the outer ring, inner ring, and inner and outer spacer rings. They must be installed into the bearing box in order according to the order of the character symbols during installation. It cannot be interchanged arbitrarily to prevent the change of bearing clearance.

3. After all the parts are installed in the bearing box, the inner ring and the inner spacer, the outer ring, and the outer spacer are axially tight.

4. Measure the gap width between the end face of the outer ring and the bearing box cover to determine the thickness of the corresponding sealing gasket.
